To meet your needs, we also offer bioinformatics analysis of the results, tailored to the sequencing performed, the starting material and the research hypotheses.

What is bioinformatics analysis?

Bioinformatics analysis is a powerful tool for interpreting sequencing data. Sequencing itself generates vast amounts of data in the form of base-pair reads - sequences. The appropriate use of various bioinformatics tools makes it possible to discover valuable information hidden in raw sequencing data, including:

BIOINFORMATICS ANALYSIS SCOPE4 analyses
Identification of genes and their variantsbioinformatics analysis can identify, for example, active genes in the material/sample under study and detect genetic variants such as mutations, polymorphisms and copy-number changes.
Gene expressionby performing transcriptome analysis: RNA-seq and by using bioinformatics tools, we can determine gene expression levels under different conditions, compare gene expression between samples and analyse how expression changes during the process under study. Everything depends on the sequencing approach and subsequent bioinformatics analysis, so it is essential to define specific needs, hypotheses or questions before ordering the service in order to plan the experiment properly.
Genome structure and functionBioinformatics analysis can help investigate genome structure and function, including the identification of regulatory elements and protein-coding regions. Bioinformatics analysis of the genome is possible after whole-genome sequencing, that is, Whole Genome Sequencing - WGS, which also enables de novo genome assembly for organisms without a sequenced reference genome.
Microorganism identificationthe use of sequencing Amplicon Sequencing 16S rRNA/ITS together with bioinformatics analysis enables the identification of specific groups of bacterial and fungal microorganisms in the material under study. This approach to microbiome composition analysis is widely used in medicine, agriculture and environmental protection.

Every sequencing service we provide at weSEQ.IT includes basic bioinformatics analysis, covering quality assessment of the sequencing data.

At the client's request, the sequencing service may also include:

  • Adapter sequence trimming - removal from raw reads of the adapter sequences used for sequencing;
  • Delivery of results as cleaned data (so-called clean reads)

The advanced bioinformatics analysis (available at an additional charge): this varies depending on the selected sequencing type and can be tailored to the project's needs. It may include, among other things:

  • Investigation of genome structure and function, including gapless genome assembly, together with SNP and InDel calling, as outputs of WGS
  • Identification of SNPs/InDels and new genes and their various variants; differential gene expression analysis (DEGs) and functional analysis of genes with altered expression (GO) as an output of transcriptome sequencing RNA-seq.
  • Identification of new small RNA molecules, analysis of changes in small RNA expression, and annotation and functional analysis of the target genes studied in sRNA as an output of small RNA-seq.
  • Operational Taxonomic Unit (OTU) analysis, species distribution, and Alpha and Beta diversity analysis with comparisons between samples as components of the bioinformatics analysis of sequencing using Amplicon Sequencing 16S rRNA.

Why choose our bioinformatics analysis services?

  • We deliver bioinformatics analysis results in the form of publication-ready:
    • tables,
    • charts,
    • heat maps,
    • diagrams,
    • detailed descriptions of the tools and methods used.
  • Your analysis will be performed by an experienced team of bioinformaticians;
  • Thanks to our established and tested pipelines (procedures), we guarantee fast, reliable and robust analysis;
  • Competitive prices;
  • We allow the analysis to be tailored to individual needs.
  • Results delivered as tables and text files are editable, so you can always return to them and extract the data that is relevant at a given time.

We recommend specifying the requirements for the bioinformatics analysis when completing the project specification form.

The scope of the analysis can also be discussed and agreed with our Support Department, which will answer any questions and address any concerns.

Below we present example Demo Reports from the following analyses: mRNA-seq, small RNA-seq and WGS.
