In order to protect your material during transport, please prepare the shipment by following the checklist.
Shipment preparation (packing)
Follow the packing checklist covering nuclease-free tubes, sample names matching the SIF and secure shipment preparation.
01DNA and RNA samples should be sent in 1.5 ml or 2.0 ml DNase and RNase-free tubes.
02Make sure that all samples are labelled correctly, with names matching the Sample Information Form. Each sample should be labelled with a waterproof marker or pencil, both on the cap and on the side of the tube. The sample names on the tubes must be identical to those entered in the Sample Information Form. The name must start with a letter and contain no more than 8 characters. Do not add any other information to the sample, as this may cause discrepancies. Failure to follow these instructions may delay the start of sample analysis and lead to other undesirable consequences.
03Secure the tubes against opening by wrapping them in several (at least 3) layers of parafilm.
04Place the samples in a closable tube rack and put the rack in a resealable bag to protect them during transport.
05Use thermal packaging, such as a polystyrene box with a wall thickness of minimum 4 cm (we recommend 6 cm), and add a sufficient number of ice packs at least 4 ice packs (for a shipment containing DNA) or dry ice - minimum 5kg (for a shipment containing RNA or sequencing libraries). Ensure that the tubes are completely surrounded by the cooling material.
06DO NOT place any documents inside the parcel.
07Seal the parcel securely with adhesive tape.
08If the parcel contains dry ice, stick a waterproof UN1845 label on the side of the shipment. UN1845.
09If you are reusing a polystyrene box previously used for another shipment, make sure that all outdated labels have been removed.
